NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nickelodeon and the National Football League (NFL) are teaming up to get kids and families pumped up for the big game, with Double Dare at Super Bowl, a brand-new Super Bowl-themed episode of the net’s iconic game show, premiering Sunday, Feb. 3, at 12 p.m. ET/PT, simulcast across Nickelodeon, Nicktoons and TeenNick. Nickelodeon will kick off its week-long coverage of all the festivities at Super Bowl LIII today, by giving kids behind-the-scenes access to Opening Night, interviews with players from both Super Bowl teams, and a sneak peek at Super Bowl Live and all of the excitement taking place in downtown Atlanta, GA.

Double Dare at Super Bowl is a 45-minute competition special, pitting two teams of NFL athletes, Nickelodeon stars and real kids against one another in a series of exciting, football-themed trivia questions and messy physical challenges. Hosted by Liza Koshy and featuring color commentary from Marc Summers, the teams will include NFL athletes Drew Brees and Russell Wilson, as well as Nickelodeon stars Scarlet Spencer and Dallas Dupree Young (Cousins for Life). The special will be taped on the PLAY FOOTBALL field at the Super Bowl Experience.

In addition to bragging rights, each Double Dare at Super Bowl team will be competing for a $10,000 donation to one of Nickelodeon and the NFL’s pro-social partners, PLAYWORKS and Special Olympics, respectively. PLAYWORKS is the leading national nonprofit leveraging the power of play to improve children’s social and emotional health by increasing opportunities for physical activity at schools. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

DAVID DENSON NAMED VICE PRESIDENT FOR

RED TAIL PRODUCTIONS

 

FORT WORTH – JANUARY 8th, 2019 – Red Tail Entertainment today announced it has appointed veteran producer David Denson as Vice President of Red Tail Productions, effective immediately. Denson’s responsibilities include day-to-day management of all things Red Tail Productions, including the general oversight of Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure, Dinosaur Zoo Live, and Double Dare Live, as well as identifying and developing new production opportunities for the company.

“It is a pleasure and privilege for Denson to join the Red Tail Entertainment family,” said Marc Engel, the Company President. “He’ll be an amazing resource, and a dependable teammate as Red Tail Entertainment grows into an ever-stronger player in the industry.”

He received his BFA in performance from East Carolina University and his MFA in directing from Southern Methodist University.

Red Tail Live! started as 35 Concerts, focusing on cities and venues along Interstate 35 between Minneapolis and San Antonio, but after five years of operations, the company merged with its parent company Red Tail Entertainment to present outstanding artists and attractions throughout the US and Canada.

Double Dare Live will feature two teams comprised of selected audience members competing to win prizes by answering brain-bending trivia questions, completing messy physical challenges and ultimately facing the legendary obstacle course.

The brand-new Double Dare series premiered this summer and ranks in the top three shows with Kids 6-11 on all TV.  The new Double Dare TV series is hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, with original host Marc Summers providing color commentary on the challenges and lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode.

Double Dare premiered on Oct. 6, 1986, on Nickelodeon, and ran from 1986-1993, making it the network’s longest running game show. Marc Summers served as the show’s original host from 1986-1993. Shortly after its debut, Double Dare became one of the most popular original daily programs on cable television. The series went into syndication in 1988, and was later revived as Super Sloppy Double Dare in 1989.  The show also ran on broadcast television as Family Double Dare in 1988, followed by new versions on Nick, including Double Dare 2000.

CEO Phil Drayer is pleased to announce that 35 Concerts will merge with Red Tail Entertainment and together do business under the banner of Red Tail Entertainment.  The company will consist of a presenting division, Red Tail Live! – presenting great performances in the best venues in North America, and a producing division, Red Tail Productions – creating amazing entertainment for audiences world-wide.  Together, Red Tail is ready to take flight.

 

Marc Engel, formerly President of 35 Concerts will serve as President of Red Tail Entertainment.  A performing arts veteran with over 30 years’ experience in the management and programming of theatres and performing arts centers, his career includes high profile management assignments in internationally recognized venues including Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. Mr. Drayer has been a key player in the high technology industry for over thirty years and built two publicly traded companies.  He was named Top CEO by Morgan Stanley Ventures in Silicon Valley in 2000, and his second company was named one of Forbes Top 50 Best Run Companies in the U.S.  Mr. Drayer’s philanthropic endeavors include twelve years of service on the Lamar University Foundation and the Engineering Advisory Council. The electrical engineering department at Lamar University bears his name.

 

Kelsey Young will serve as Vice President and Talent Buyer, USA East, of Red Tail Live!  A graduate of Texas Christian University, Kelsey has been with 35 Concerts for the past three years where she successfully worked to initiate relationships and bookings in new regions and new venues, largely in the Southeast, Eastern seaboard and midwestern United States.

 

Deborah Barr is the General Manager of Red Tail Productions and oversees the day to day business and operation of their current shows, Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live and Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure.   She has worked as a production and stage manager for dance, theatre, opera and ceremonial events for numerous companies and producing entities.  She worked for many years as Events Manager at the University of Texas at Austin, and as a company manager on tour.
